Ditengah berbagai berita negatif mengenai pandemi COVID-19 yang tengah berlangsung, ada kabar positif yang datang dari Departemen Teknik Fisika Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya yang mengembangkan Simple and Low-Cost Mechanical Ventilator untuk membantu ketersediaan ventilator di Indonesia. Alumnus DAAD, Dr. rer.nat Aulia Nasution, dipercaya menjadi  Ketua Tim Pengembangan Ventilator yang diberi nama Emergency Ventilator ITS (E-VITS).
